A stolen, uncredited copy of my artwork is the first Google image search result for the phrase "mac vs pc wallpaper," despite my original piece having the phrase "Don't reuse publicly without my permission" written beneath it. This copy has an additional 13,493 downloads, while my original copy has 3,578. Hey, at least the site redistributing it has a karma system, and my controversial piece is at +275. Now that Google does reverse image search, I see that there is a slew of other wallpaper sites that have reposted it, some ad supported (which I will view as a violation of my Creative Commons non-commercial, share alike license), and some not (which I will allow, so long as I am credited).
Should I feel more honored, or more upset?
