Thank you, Electronic Arts

Words cannot convey how fucking amazing Crysis is. I thought from the demo that the game would mostly consist of sneaking up behind Koreans and beating them senseless with the butt of a rifle. I thought that the campaign might take about five hours to complete, and then I'd be done. I was wrong. Crysis doesn't really feel like it locks you into a tunnel with the starting point at one end and the objective at the other; no, you're actually free to go wherever you want. If you see a spot on the top of a hill with lots of vegetation and think it would make a great sniping perch, you can go there and snipe. Fence in your way? No problem, jump over it. I've spent three days in campaign (on the hardest difficulty), and it feels like I'm close to beating it, but I don't know for sure. I've gone from skull-smashing Koreans under palm trees on the beach, to planting charges on tanks in the meadows, to swimming through a zero-gravity maze while killing Jello people, to killing electrical/mechanical/organic alien creatures in a blizzard. There is just an unbelievably expansive world to explore in Crysis.

I'm currently playing with all settings on high (not very high) with AA at 2x, getting 15-20 FPS. My computer can run very high settings pretty well with AA off, but everything looks ugly with jaggies... so high it is.

Yep, I know how that goes. Though I'm fortunately done with all the writing classes I'll ever have to take (I think, I hope...). On the other hand, I have all the hard engineering classes left.
