What sets a zombie and a man apart?
Is it goodwill, or brains and a heart?
I wake up each day, but I do not live.
Stuck in routine; oh what would I give
To wake up one day, get out of bed,
Open my eyes, and not be undead?

There is a way out; that much is clear.
My freedom comes closer, year after year.
There is a girl who carries my cure.
I've finally found her; this time I'm sure.
The one way to save me, my Dear, is this:
Lean in a bit closer, and offer a kiss.
I have a much longer, much more complaintive work in progress. I got tired of writing in the strictly pentasyllabic format I somehow adopted for it, so I wrote something a little bit lighter for the time being.

Yep, I've got a huge crush again, it's true.
Yep, I'm hallucinating that she likes me too.
Whether she does is anyone's guess.
I'll just have to ask her, and hope for a "yes."

Okay, this is adorable. I generally don't like love poems because they are cheesy and cliche, but this one is just too cute! The rhyming flows together so well, and I love the metaphor of the zombie!! My only complaint is the question mark at the end of line four; I feel like you could connect that line with the two underneath it to form one sentence, but I suppose it's just personal preference.
Again, nice work on the poem! I never knew you could write poetry. ;)
